Alan Cumming will star in the title role in a new Broadway production of Synge's Irish classic The Playboy of the Western World. Cumming told Playbill On-Line backstage at the Tony Awards that the production would reach Broadway sometime next year, with Garry Hines directing. Hines is known for her work on The Beauty Queen of Leenane and The Lonesome West, both by Martin McDonagh. --Robert Simonson
