News Alan Cumming to Star Opposite James Franco, Claire Danes, Catherine Keener in "Maladies" Tony Award winner Alan Cumming will appear in "Maladies," an upcoming film starring James Franco and stage veterans Claire Danes and Catherine Keener, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Carter, an artist who has recently collaborated with Franco, directs the project, which depicts a successful actor who retires early amidst rumors of mental illness. Filming has begun.

Cumming, a Tony Award winner for Cabaret, has also appeared on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera and Design for Living. He is currently a regular on the CBS series "The Good Wife" and can be seen in the film musical "Burlesque." Cumming will appear in the upcoming Julie Taymor film version of "The Tempest" and in the miniseries "The Runaway," which will debut on Britain's Sky TV in March.
