Perseverance Theatre will present Dale Wasserman's adaptation of Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in a non-traditional theatrical site -- the former F-Stop in The Emporium Mall, Nov. 6-22.
Cuckoo's Nest which takes place in an Oregon State Mental Institution is about society's crushing of individuality and pioneering spirit. Rather than going back to jail, R.P. McMurphy pretends to be insane and gets shipped off to a mental institution. What he thinks will be the easy life turns out to be a surreal nightmare when dominating Nurse Ratched attempts to squeeze the rebel and the life out of the rambunctious Irishman.
Nest was first presented by Perseverance during their 1980-81 season and chosen as an audience favorite in a newsletter survey given by the theatre.
Perseverance Theatre's production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest will take place at the former F-Stop (rm. 109) in The Emporium Mall, downtown. For tickets ($12) or more information call (907) 364- 2421.
