News Alec Baldwin Will Guest Star as Controversial Newspaper Columnist in Upcoming "Law & Order: SVU" Episode Tony Award nominee Alec Baldwin, who recently declared he was leaving public life behind in a New York Magazine cover story, will guest star as a controversial New York newspaper columnist in an upcoming episode of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," according to Deadline.com.

In the episode, slated to air March 19, Katie Couric will play herself — a TV show host — and interview Baldwin's character, a controversial New York newspaper columnist named Jimmy MacArthur, about a hate crime/rape case.

Mariska Hargitay will direct the episode.
