Set to run April 29-June 7, 2015, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, Permission marks Askins' return to MCC Theater after his acclaimed dark comedy Hand to God was produced there last season. That play will arrive on Broadway at the Booth Theatre in March 2015.

Timbers is a Tony Award nominee for Peter and the Starcatcher and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. He is also the director of Here Lies Love, Rocky, Love's Labour's Lost, The Last Goodbye and the upcoming musical Up Here.

"In Permission," according to MCC, "Eric and Cyndy are looking for some direction. They’ve decided to follow the lead of their friends Zach and Shelley and make Christian Domestic Discipline the foundation of their marriage. But restructuring their lives and their union according to role play and a new moral code upends everything they knew – and took for granted – about one another, their friends, and more importantly, who really holds the paddle! This new comedy explores our all-too-human impulse to make order out of the chaos of modern relationships."
