Playwright Wendy Wasserstein (An American Daughter) will engage Honour star and Tony-nominee Jane Alexander in conversation after the May 28 performance of the Joanna Murray-Smith play at Broadway's Belasco Theatre.

The event, titled "From the Beltway to Broadway: The Art and Arts of Jane Alexander," will benefit Literacy Partners, Woman in Need (WIN), and WritersCorps. The three organizations will received $20 of all full-priced orchestra and front mezzanine tickets sold for the performance.

The title is a reference to Alexander's recent, four-year tour of duty at chair of the National Endowment for the Arts. Honour is her first post NEA theatre job.

Literacy Partners in involved in teaching adults how to read and write. WIN's mission is the shelter and assistance of homeless women and their children. A spokesperson at WIN said that Wasserstein was a donor and was instrumental in organizing the event.
