According to reports in the U.K's Daily Mail, he will take over in the spring from Simon Bowman, who is currently playing the role at the Queen's Theatre for a 26-week run.

He previously played the role for a two-week period before playing the 02 concert. Producer Cameron Mackintosh is quoted as saying that Boe might prove to be good casting, too, for the long-planned film version of the show. "Alfie was a revelation in the 02 concert and I believe he has the kind of sound we'll need for the movie," says Mackintosh. "What doesn't work is shrieking theatre voices."
