News Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story to Begin Off-Broadway Run in September Mike Folie's Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story will begin previews Sept. 5 at the Michael Weller Theatre, with an official opening Sept. 10.

Presented by the New York Theatre Collective, the production will feature direction by Craig J. George. The design team will comprise Sarah Lambert (scenic design), Jeriana Hochberg (costume design), Richard Tatum (lighting design) and Shaun Fillion (projection design).

Casting will be announced at a later date.

Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story, according to production notes, "examines the unreliability of objective truth and provides a subjective and multi-faceted appraisal of one man's obsessive fascination with sex and sexual orientation. His voyeuristic search for the truth through his subjects' sex lives ultimately leads him full circle to shattering discoveries about himself. It is a highly theatrical and fictionalized biography revealing the raw, hot emotions that often hide beneath the seemingly cold search for scientific knowledge. With the wreckage of his memories and hallucinatory fragments, Kinsey’s own erotic voyage is placed under examination; exposing how people can lie to themselves, even when they are on a quest for ultimate truth."

Show times are Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 7:30 PM.

The Michael Weller Theatre is located in Manhattan at 311 West 43rd Street (Sixth Floor). Tickets, priced $18, are available by calling (212) 352-3101.
