Tony nominee Alfred Molina (Fiddler on the Roof) and Malcolm in the Middle’s Jane Kaczmarek will star in Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse in early 2017, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Directed by Jeanie Hackett, the production will run January 31-March 19 in the Gil Cates Theater. According to THR, Molina will play James Tyrone Sr., and Kaczmarek will star opposite him as his morphine-addicted wife, Mary. Further casting will be announced at a later date.
O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize-winning story about a family coming apart at the seams is currently being revived on Broadway through June 26. Jessica Lange was awarded the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role as Mary Tyrone. The Broadway cast also features Gabriel Byrne, Michael Shannon and John Gallagher Jr.
