Performances begin January 24 at The Royal Family Performing Arts Space for a new movement-led adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s celebrated novel Anne of Green Gables. Titled Anne of Green Gables: Part I, and the first in a three-part series, the world premiere stars Phantom of the Opera's Ali Ewoldt in the title role.

Anne of Green Gables: Part I is adapted and directed by Chris Henry with choreography by Lorna Ventura. Ewoldt is joined by dancers Brooke Averi, Kiersten Foster, Mindy Lai, Kara Menendez, and Stephanie Young.

The production features original music by Amanda Armstrong, Lars Jacobsen, and Bart Kuebler; lighting, scenic, and costume design by Cheyenne Sykes; projection design by Chelsie McPhilimy; and sound design by Chet Miller. Jessica Wu is associate director.

Anne of Green Gables: Part I is scheduled to run through February 11. In conjunction with the world premiere, Royal Family Productions will also present a workshop presentation of Anne of Green Gables: Part II January 31–February 10.
