Film actress Alicia Silverstone, who currently portrays Elaine Robinson in the Broadway production of The Graduate, will leave the Terry Johnson adapted and directed play Sept. 1. Silverstone currently stars opposite Josh Radnor, who assumed the role of Benjamin Braddock when Jason Biggs left the role to film Woody Allen's newest screen project. Biggs, who made a splash in the two "American Pie" films, returns to the Broadway production on Aug. 20. He is scheduled to stay with the show through mid-November. The play also casts Kathleen Turner as the infamous Mrs. Robinson; Turner's Broadway contract ends during the middle of Nov. as well.

Actress Kelly Overton, who is currently making her Broadway debut in The Graduate as the Assistant Desk Clerk, will assume the role of Elaine after Silverstone's departure. Overton appeared Off-Broadway in Ibsen's Rosmersholm, in a regional production of The Comedy of Errors and on TV in "All My Children." The cast of The Graduate also features Murphy Guyer, Kate Skinner, Victor Slezak, Larry Cahn, Susan Cella, Ben Feldman, John Hillner, Jurian Hughes and Robert Emmet Lunney.

Set in California in the 1960's, The Graduate — based on the classic film of the same name — plays The Plymouth Theatre (236 W. 45th Street). Tickets — ranging from $21.25 to $81.25 — are available through Telecharge by calling (212) 239-6200.
