The new musical City of Dreams will play July 8-Aug. 4 as part of the 3rd Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival. The production presented by Youngblood and Ensemble Studio Theatre will play at Raw Space in midtown Manhattan. City of Dreams follows the story of a prince in 1889 Vienna whose affair with a sixteen-year-old threatens to tear apart the Empire when his parents intervene. The show features music by Joseph Zellnik with book and lyrics by David Zellnik. Michael Alltop directs.

The cast of City Of Dreams includes Alison Fraser (The Secret Garden, Romance/Romance), Paul Anthony Stewart (Cyrano - The Musical, TV's "Guiding Light"), Stephen Bel Davies, Michael Berkowitz, Sharron Bower, John Hellyer, Megan McGinnis, Michael Mendiola and Ben Nordstrom.

The creative team features Randall E. Klein (costumes) and Mark Fitzgibbons (set). Janet Bogardus handles choreography.

The Zellnik Brothers have written several musicals together, including First In Flight – a Wright Brothers musical for TheatreworksUSA set to tour in 2003. City of Dreams is a finalist for the Global Search for New Musicals for the International Festival of Musical Theatre set for Cardiff later this year. Songs from City of Dreams have appeared on Fraser’s recent CD "Men in My Life."
