PlayBlog All About Edna: The Dame Finds Her Understudy Award-winning Dame Edna impersonator Scott Mason can now add an additional jewel to his crown: honorary understudy for the purple-coiffed Australian in the Broadway production of All About Me.

Auditions were held Feb. 17 at the Henry Miller's Theatre, where a clutch of hopefuls trotted out their best Edna impression. Judges included New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel, Village Voice writer Michael Musto and NY1's Frank DiLella. All About Me co-star Michael Feinstein and Everage's manager, Barry Humphries, were also on hand.

Though Dame Edna isn't planning to take a night off, Mason will be listed in the Playbill as official honorary understudy. (This means that Everage's elusive son Kenny, who designs all of her over-the-top frocks, won't be flying in for a costume fitting anytime soon.)

Anyway, Mason's already got a trunkful; he appears as the Dame for various functions around the country.

All About Me begins previews Feb. 19.
