News   All Dolled Up — with "NYPD Blue"'s O'Donohue — Begins Previews April 29 John F. O'Donohue, who played Sgt. Eddie Gibson on the long-running TV series "NYPD Blue," stars in the new Off-Broadway play All Dolled Up, which begins previews April 29 at the Acorn Theatre.

Directed by Susan Campanaro, Bobby Spillane's comedy will officially open May 7. The limited engagement, which is being presented by Colin Quinn and Working Stiffs Productions, will play through June 11.

All Dolled Up is set in the sixties and is based on the life of a cross-dressing gangster. The comedy, according to press notes, concerns the life of "Salvatore, a wiseguy from Bensonhurst who is trying to keep his newly discovered dressing fetish a secret from his associates. When his secret is out, the Italian Mafia and Greenwich Village’s Gay Community come together in a hilarious scheme to keep 'Sally' alive."

In addition to O'Donohue, the play features Michael Basile as Sally with Tomm Bauer, Jennifer Blood, Jamie Bonelli, Matt Gallagher, Rocco Parente, Christo Parenti and Alyssa Truppelli. The creative team also includes Kenny McDonough and Chris Wiggins (scenic design), Tim Stephenson and Dana Giangrande (lighting design), Alex Jost (music and sound design) and Billy Delace (videography).

John F. O'Donohue's other television credits include "The John Larroquette Show," "Seinfeld," "King of Queens," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "ER," "CSI," "CSI: Miami," "Law & Order" and "Chicago Hope." His film credits include "As Good As It Gets," "Family Man," "Lucky Numbers" and "Living Out Loud."

All Dolled Up plays Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2:30 and 8 PM and Sundays at 3:30 and 7 PM. Tickets, priced at $45, are available by calling (212) 279-4200. The Acorn Theatre is located at 410 West 42nd Street. The intermissionless show runs 95 minutes.
