An all star cast has been announced for a national tour ofGrease, to be presented in major stadiums around Australia. Billed as an 'arena spectacular,' the cast is headed up by the acclaimed Anthony Warlow. Warlow, considered a major drawcard and known as the original Phantom in Australia, is also recognised internationally for his work on the 1996 concept album of Jekyll and Hyde. Along with Warlow in his cameo as the Teen Angel, two former soap opera stars who have made careers in England return home for the show; Craig McLachlin (Danny) and Danni Minogue (Rizzo). McLachlin has played the role in the current the West End revival and again will be directed by David Gilmore. Jane Scali will star opposite McLachlin as Sandy. Glenn Shorrock, former lead singer with Little River Band, will play Johnny Casino, and local TV star Tottie Goldsmith (niece of Olivia Newton John) will play Miss Lynch.
The show is a co-production between John Frost and Sports and Entertainment Limited, who have plans to tour New Zealand, Asia and Japan after the initial seasons in Melbourne (from April 24), Sydney(from May 3), Brisbane(from May 12) and Adelaide(from May 18).
