News   All The Bad Things Will Happen Off-Broadway as LAByrinth Show Begins The LAByrinth Theatre Company begins its developmental production of Cusi Cram's All The Bad Things, Feb. 15. Paula Pizzi directs the work which performs at the Public Theater's Shiva Theatre space for a 15-show run through March 5.

The cast which recently read the play at LAByrinth’s 2005 Barn Series Festival reprises their roles in the production. They are Vanessa Aspillaga (Anna in the Tropics), Jennifer Lauren Grant, Justin Reinsilber (Stopless), Alexa Scott Flaherty (First You're Born) and Phyllis Somerville (The Spitfire Grill). Actor Peter Hirsch ("Kissing Jessica Stein") steps in for David Zayas. All The Bad Things follows Fernanda, who lives in a small Greenwich Village apartment with her sick mother and her unemployed husband when she learns of her brother-in law's recent conversion to the Mormon faith and that her rent-stabilized apartment is about to become de-stabilized.

LAB opened its season with a developmental production of José Rivera's Massacre (Sing To Your Children), Oct. 5-23, 2005. The spring will bring another Rivera work as the company teams with The Public Theater anew on School of the Americas. Inspired by Rivera’s experience during the filming of his screen adaptation of "The Motorcycle Diaries" and based on historical fact, the new work set in the Bolivian jungle where Che Guevara was captured and held in a one-room school house where a young school teacher insists that speak to the famous revolutionary. Her conversation with Che is the basis for the work which will star John Ortiz (Anna in the Tropics, References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot) as Che Guevara under the direction of Mark Wing-Davey.
