The youngest playwrights of Houston -- ages 11 to 19, specifically -- will get their day, or rather, two days in the sun on Aug. 7 and 8, when the Alley Theatre hosts the second annual Young Houston Playwrights Festival Showcase. The event will spotlight the scripts of budding Texan dramatists. Each play will be presented at the Alley's Neuhaus Arena Stage at 615 Texas Ave. The Alley co-hosts the event with Mappamundi.
