The Judith Shakespeare Company’s production of All’s Well That Ends Well ends its run Aug. 10 at Theater Row Theatre in New York. Merle Louise (Sweeney Todd, Kiss of the Spider Woman) stars as the Countess Rousillon, whose ward Helena (Lisa Walker) is in love with the Countess’s son Bertram (Hugh Kelly). After Helena cures the King of France (Scott Eck) of an incurable disease he grants as her reward any of his unmarried courtiers. She of course chooses Bertram who immediately departs for Italy after the marriage, vowing never to return to France. Disguises, trysts and confessions leave all ending well.
Also featured in the cast are Richard Simon, Jeffrey Shoemaker, Bill Galarno, Jane Culley, Alithea H. Hages and Kevin LeCaon.
JSC Artistic Director Joanne Zipay directs All’s Well That Ends Well with pop-up storybook sets by Jason Ardizzone and costumes by Rob Bevenger. Live music under the direction of Kathy Devine serves as accompaniment.
