The March 29 edition of the ongoing "Food for Thought" play reading series in Manhattan will feature Ally Sheedy in Day for Surprises and The Loveliest Afternoon of the Year, by John Guare. Sheedy replaces the previously-announced Marisa Tomei.
Sheedy last appeared on a New York stage in the Off-Broadway musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She was the first female actor to play the title role in the show.
The event, held at the National Arts Club off Gramercy Park in Manhattan at 1 PM, is part of a lunchtime series which began last fall with the new Tony Kushner play, East Coast Ode to Howard Jarvis.
The events include a discussion with the playwright and actors, as well as a gourmet box lunch. The cost is $27. Susan Charlotte, Harold Thau, Barry Minsky and Kenneth Martin in association with the National Arts Club produce.
