News Allyn, Sokol, Tazmania and More Bite Into Cheese in NYC Reading June 21 Cheese, a new comedy by Laurel Ollstein, gets an industry reading at The Players Theatre in Greenwich Village 7 PM June 21. Producer Pat Flicker Addiss is behind the presentation.

SuzAnne Barabas (The Housewives of Mannheim) directs the reading, to feature Theo Allyn, Brian Carter, Shauna Goodgold, Alex Krasse, Desiree Maumus, Marilyn Sokol, Corey Tazmania and Phoenix Vaughn.

The play, in which cheese sculptures play a part, is billed as "a dark comic farce about secrets and family — and how to survive them both."

Cheese was a 2009 finalist in the New Works of Merit Competition and will be published by Original Works Publishing. Ollstein co-wrote the book for the musical Opa!, which was a finalist in the TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series in 2007.

Producer Addiss is currently represented on Broadway with Promises, Promises and Off-Broadway with The 39 Steps, The Fantasticks and The Housewives of Mannheim. Her past credits include Spring Awakening, Passing Strange and Little Women.
