Michael West, a longtime star of Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway, will bring his one-man show, Almost Live from the Betty Ford Clinic!, to the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre Oct. 31.
West will perform Thursday evenings at 8 PM (no performance Dec. 26) in the musical entertainment, which he conceived and wrote. The actor-singer comedian will offer more than 20 of the entertainment world's most "ridicule-ready celebrities"; theatregoers can expect to see "Liza Minnelli's Reality Show" and a "truly twisted Jerry Lewis telethon."
Produced by Richard Robertson and The Theatre Company, the creative team for Betty Ford comprises Fritz Masten Hasbrouck (costumes), Robert Strickland (musical arrangements), Carl Schmehl (production consultant) and Russ Trent (video).
An Atlanta native, Michael West spent two years at the Douglas Fairbanks in the hit revue When Pigs Fly. His other theatrical credits include the current edition of Forbidden Broadway as well as Whoop-Dee Doo and Mr. President. West was dubbed "Funniest Man in Atlanta" for his one-man show Michael West. . .Together at Last, which featured spoofs of Liza Minnelli, Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis, Jr.
The Douglas Fairbanks Theatre is located in New York City at 432 W. 42nd Street. Tickets are priced at $20 and are available by calling (212) 239 6200.
