News Alton Fitzgerald White to Offer Holiday Concert to Benefit Shannon Tavarez Alton Fitzgerald White, who currently stars as Mufasa in the Tony-winning musical The Lion King, will offer a holiday concert at the Triad Theatre Dec. 13.

White's 7:30 PM concert will benefit Shannon Tavarez, who played Young Nala in The Lion King on Broadway for seven months before she was diagnosed with AML, which is a rare and aggressive form of leukemia.

White's special guest for the evening will be The Color Purple's Yolanda Wyns. Doyle Newmyer is the musical director.

Alton Fitzgerald White has been seen on Broadway in The Color Purple, The Lion King, Ragtime, Miss Saigon, The Who's Tommy and Smokey Joe's Café.
