Kyle Donnelly directs the sword-fighting adventure adapted by Ludwig from the classic novel by Alexander Dumas. The family-friendly production, the first offering of Seattle Rep's 2008-2009 season, officially Opens Oct. 10 and continues through Nov. 15.
Cast as the swashbuckling trio are Hans Altwies (Athos), Jeffrey M. Bender (Porthos) and Ryan Shams (Aramis). The company also features Andrew William Smith (D'Artagnan), Jim Abele (Cardinal Richelieu), Geoffrey Alm (Father/Treville), Cheyenne Casebier (Milady), Alban Dennis (Buckingham/King Louis), Montana von Fliss (Sabine), Jennifer Sue Johnson (Constance), Ellen Karas (Queen Anne), Shawn Law (Rochefort) and Michael Rossmy (Bassile) with ensemble members Justin Alley, Kate Kraay and David Goldstein.
Ludwig's adaptation is described as a "fresh, fast-paced, and hilarious adaptation of one of literature's most thrilling romantic adventures. The dashing musketeers — and one plucky kid sister — swashbuckle their way through nefarious villains, international intrigue, and exotic ladies. It's 'all for one and one for all!' in an action-packed update of this beloved classic."
