PASADENA, CA -- Peter Shaffer's Amadeus will open Dec. 19 at the Knightsbridge Theatre for a 5-week run.
The play deals with the life and death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The story is presented from the point of view of Salieri, a rival of Mozart's. "Salieri tells much of what he understood about Mozart," said a company spokesperson. "He also reveals a great deal about the intrigue and court life that surrounded Mozart through his life."
Other Shaffer plays include Black Comedy and Lettice and Lovage.
Through Jan. 24 at the Knightsbridge, a 99-seat theatre located at 35 S. Raymond Ave. in Old Pasadena. Tickets are $15 general admission; $10 for seniors and students. Call (626) 440-0821.
