Classic Arts News American Ballet Theatre Names Head of School The American Ballet Theatre has appointed Franco De Vita principal of its Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, the company announced.
De Vita is currently dean of faculty and curriculum at Boston Ballet School. A former dancer with European companies and in musical theater, he has served as director of the Scuola de Danza Classica Hamlyn in Florence and a faculty member at the School of Hartford Balley and the Ailey School.

ABT created the Onassis School in January 2004 at its Manhattan rehearsal space. It trains students between the ages of 14 and 18.
