Classic Arts News American Ballet Theatre's Spring Gala to Feature Savion Glover The gala opening night of American Ballet Theatre's spring season will include a performance by tap star Savion Glover, ABT announced.
The gala takes place on May 23 at the Metropolitan Opera House. Glover, the former prodigy who has lately expanded his repertoire to include dances set to classical music, will perform a work created for the occasion.

The evening will also include many of the company's star dancers. Alessandra Ferri and Julio Bocca will perform the pas de deux from Roland Petit's Carmen; Herman Cornejo and Amanda McKerrow will dance Le Spectre de la rose; and Julie Kent and Vladimir Malakhov will dance the pas de deux from Act II of Swan Lake.

Also on the program are Michel Fokine's Polovtsian Dances and the Don Quixote Suite with Diana Vishneva, Jose Manuel Carreê±o, Erica Cornejo, Maria Riccetto, Maxim Beloserkovsky, Gillian Murphy, Veronika Part, Marcelo Gomes, Paloma Herrera, Carlos Acosta, Xiomara Reyes, Michele Wiles, and Angel Corella.

Tickets for the performance and the gala dinner that follows are $1,500 and $2,000; tickets for the performance alone are $25-$130.
