Classic Arts News American Federation of Musicians Reelects President The American Federation of Musicians reelected president Thomas F. Lee at its annual convention this month, the AFM announced.
According to the AFM, Lee, a former pianist for the United States Marine Band, was overwhelmingly elected to his third term. He defeated Ed Ward, a trumpeter and the former president of Chicago's Local 10-208.

Florence Nelson, the union's secretary-treasurer, was unseated by Sam Folio, a union activist and former healthcare executive. Vice president Harold Bradley, a guitarist, was reelected, as was Bobby Herriot, the vice president from Canada.

The AFM represents players in orchestras throughout North America as well as pop and theatrical musicians.
