Hamilton (Reasons to be Happy at MCC, Dead Accounts) will play Max opposite Ewan McGregor (Henry), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Annie) and Cynthia Nixon (Charlotte) in the Tony Award-winning play, which will begin previews Oct. 2.

Nixon is a board member of Roundabout Theatre Company and returns to their stage following her roles in Distracted and The Women. Gyllenhaal and McGregor will be making their Broadway debuts as Annie and Henry, respectively.

Sam Gold (Picnic, Look Back in Anger, Tigers Be Still) will direct the limited engagement, which will officially open Oct. 30 for a run through Jan. 4, 2015, at the American Airlines Theatre.

Gyllenhaal received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Jean Craddock in "Crazy Heart." She has also been seen on screen in "Secretary," "Waterland," "Cecil B. Demented," "Happy Endings" and "The Dark Knight," among others. On stage, she starred as Alice in Patrick Mauber's Closer at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles and at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Anthony and Cleopatra at the Vanborough Theatre in London and Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul, which ran in both Los Angeles and at B.A.M. 

McGregor recently wrapped production on "Jane's Got a Gun" and is currently filming "Mortdecai" opposite Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow. He can currently be seen in the John Wells film adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play August: Osage County. McGregor was last seen on the London stage in 2008 as Iago in Othello at the Donmar Warehouse. He has also been seen on stage in the original Donmar Warehouse production of Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre in London and Little Malcolm and His Struggles Against the Eunuchs. The full cast and design team will be announced at a later date.

Stoppard's The Real Thing premiered Nov. 16, 1982, at The Strand Theatre in London. The Real Thing is the winner of the 1984 Tony Award for Best Play and returns to the Broadway stage having last been produced 14 years ago.

When Henry’s affair with their friend Annie threatens to destroy his own marriage, he discovers that life has started imitating art. Delectably witty and deeply affecting, The Real Thing takes a daring glimpse at relationships, fidelity, and the passions that often blur our perception of love."

The Real Thing is part of Roundabout's 2014-15 season, and tickets are currently on sale.
