News "American Idol" Contestant Carson Higgins Cast in The Columbine Project Carson Higgins, a recent contestant on this season's "American Idol," has joined the cast of The Columbine Project. The Los Angeles production of the Paul Storiale play, which is inspired by the tragic events at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999, will perform at the Avery Schreiber Theatre in North Hollywood beginning April 22.

Higgins will be joined by Riley Bodenstab, Morgan Roberts, Sara Swain, Bree Pavey, Rich Skidmore, Pamela Taylorm Evan Cuthbert, Scott Chesak, Jack Millard, Joe Cisternelli, Matthew Powell, Chris Arvan, Kristina Diamantoni, Paul Woolfolk and Paige Kimball. Storiale will also direct.

According to press notes, "This drama focuses on the massacre at Columbine High School that left thirteen people -- twelve of them students -- dead. The Columbine Project explores the tragic event from various perspectives before, after, and during that tragic day of April 20, 1999."

The play premiered in 2009 in Los Angeles before moving to New York's Actors Temple Theatre. A film adaptation is in the works.

The Columbine Project will perform Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM.
