News "American Idol" Contestant Eliminated; Details for March 16-17 Broadcasts Announced Finalist Ashthon Jones, who received the fewest votes from the viewing public, was eliminated from the "American Idol" competition on the March 10 broadcast of the hit Fox vocal competition.

The judges, who include Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, opted not to use the "Judges' Save." Up until only five finalists remain, the judges – if they unanimously agree – have the option to save from elimination the finalist receiving the lowest number of votes. The judges do not have to save a finalist during the competition. However, if they choose to use the Judges’ Save, they may only do so once during the season. The following week, the two finalists receiving the lowest number of votes would be eliminated.

On March 16 at 8 PM the Top 12 (Casey Abrams, Naima Adedapo, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Thia Megia, Haley Reinhart, Karen Rodriguez and Pia Toscano) will perform songs from the year they were born.

The results show on March 17 at 8 PM will feature performances by The Black Eyed Peas and "American Idol" Season Nine winner Lee DeWyze.

Among the many "American Idol" finalists and/or winners who have appeared on Broadway are Fantasia, Justin Guarini, Jordin Sparks, Diana DeGarmo, Ace Young, Tamyra Gray, Constantine Maroulis, Frenchie Davis, Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks.
