News "American Idol XIII" Premieres Jan. 15-16; Harry Connick, Jr. Among Judges The hit Fox singing competition "American Idol" kicks off its 13th season with a two-night, four-hour premiere Jan. 15-16 at 8 PM ET each night.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the judges for "American Idol XIII" include Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr.

"American Idol" is produced by FremantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment, a division of Core Media Group. The series was created by Simon Fuller and is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Trish Kinane, Per Blankens, Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager.

Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple, After Midnight), Taylor Hicks (Grease), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis (Jekyll and Hyde, Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray, Hair), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
