Stage and screen vets Amy Ryan, Kathy Bates and Melora Hardin will return to their recurring roles in "The Office" for the sitcom's seventh season, which is the final one in which Steve Carrell will star as awkward boss Michael Scott.

Ryan (A Streetcar Named Desire, "Uncle Vanya"), according to the Hollywood Reporter, will return as Holly from HR, an old flame of Michael's. Bates ("Misery," "Annie," 'night, Mother) will appear again as Jo Bennett, the CEO of the Sabre company that bought out Dunder Mifflin last season, and Hardin (Chicago), as previously reported, will return once again as executive Jan Levinson, who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Michael.

The season will highlight several actors in their own individual episodes during the first half of the season, to hint at who might replace Carrell as Dunder Mifflin's boss and/or the show's star. Andy (Ed Helms) will be seen starring in a community theatre production of Sweeney Todd.

The seventh season of "The Office" will premiere Sept. 23 at 9 PM ET on NBC.
