PlayBlog An Onstage Marriage Proposal at Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Video) Cast members from Broadway's Priscilla Queen of the Desert have been celebrating marriage equality since June 24 when same-sex marriage was made legal in the state of New York. Here, audience members Yuri Rodriguez and Stephen Troiano celebrate as well, getting engaged at the Palace Theatre following the Aug. 13 evening performance of Priscilla.

After the Broadway company of Priscilla took their bows, Tony Award winner Tony Sheldon invited Rodriguez onto the stage at the Palace. Sheldon gave Rodriguez the microphone, who was then joined by his partner Troiano. When Rodriguez got down on one knee, the audience at the Palace burst into applause.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the flashy new Broadway musical at the Palace, stars Sheldon (Bernadette), Will Swenson (Tick/Mitzi) and Nick Adams (Adam/Felicia) as "the trio of friends on a heart-warming, uplifting adventure.
