News Andersson, Meriwether and Timbers Team on Dixie's Tupperware Party The one-person play Dixie's Tupperware Party, written by Kris Andersson and Elizabeth Meriwether and directed by Obie winner Alex Timbers, will be presented at Ars Nova beginning April 18 and officially opening May 10, before ending June 17.

Press notes describe the play as such: "Dixie Longate, the fast-talking Tupperware Lady, has packed up her catalogues, and left her children in an Alabama trailer park to journey to The Big Apple. Join Dixie as she throws a good ol’ fashioned Tupperware Party filled with outrageous tales, free giveaways, and the most fabulous assortment of Tupperware ever sold on a New York stage. See for yourself how Ms. Longate became the number one Tupperware seller in the world, as she educates her guests on the many alternative uses she has discovered for her plastic products!"

The play has scenic design by Cameron Anderson, costume design by Camille Assaf, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, video design by Jacob Pinholster and sound design by Eric Shim.

Andersson is a Los Angeles-based writer who wrote Dixie's Tupperware Party for the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival before teaming up with Meriwether and Timbers to revise the show.

Meriwether's plays include Heddatron, an adaptation of Hedda Gabler with live robots, produced by Les Freres Corbusier in February 2006 and directed by Timbers. She has also written The Mistakes Madeline Made, originally produced by Naked Angels Theatre Company in spring 2005 and subsequently produced by Yale Repertory Theatre in fall 2006. 20th Century Fox Television is currently filming her untitled sitcom pilot, which is in consideration for next season's Fox lineup.

Timbers is the artistic director of Les Freres Corbusier and has also directed Gutenberg! The Musical! (The Actor’s Playhouse and 59E59), A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant (OBIE Award), Hell House (St. Ann’s Warehouse), underground with David Dorfman Dance (BAM Next Wave and US tour), Boozy (Culture Project), Marge (Summer Play Festival) and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Williamstown Theatre Festival).
