Directed by Paul Blake with choreography by Kelli Barclay, the musical, the last production of the current season, will run Aug. 8-14.

The cast will be led by Lara Teeter as Albert Peterson, Andrea Burns as Rose Alvarez, Samantha Massell as Ursula Merkle, Alysha Deslorieux as Alice, Kelly O'Neill as Kim MacAfee, Leslie Denniston as Mrs. MacAfee, Lewis J. Stadlen as Mr. MacAfee, Susan Cella as Mae Peterson, Parker Pogue as Conrad Birdie, James Anthony as Mayor, Candice M. Coleman as Mayor's Wife, Julian Decker as Hugo Peabody, Michael Harp as Randolph MacAfee, Jane Pisarkiewicz as Mrs. Merkle, Kelly Sheehan as Gloria Rasputin, Rich Pisarkiewicz as Charles F. Maude, with Robert Earl Gleason, Nick Leos, Graydon Long, Matthew Meigs, Kenny Metzger, Patrick Ross, Richard Riaz Yoder as Shriners and Robert Earl Gleason, Nick Leos, Matthew Meigs and Rich Pisarkiewicz as the Bar Quartet. Richard Riaz Yoder is the dance captain.

The ensemble includes Amy Michele Allen, James Anthony, Amy Blackman, Natalie Ann Bram, Jen Brissman, John Stanley Ciapciak, Candice M. Coleman, Alysha Deslorieux, Dawn Gilbertson, Robert Earl Gleason, Erik Heitz, Ashley Krupinski, Nick Leos, Graydon Long, Samantha Massell, Matthew Meigs, Kenny Metzger, Jane Pisarkiewicz, Rich Pisarkiewicz, Patrick Probst, Patrick Ross, Kelly Sheehan, Jack Sippel, Gia Grazia Valenti and Richard Riaz Yoder.

The creative team also includes musical director Sam Davis, scenic designer Michael Anania, lighting designer F. Mitchell Dana, sound designer Jason Krueger and production stage manager Harold Goldfaden, with costumes designed by Kansas City Costume.

Bye Bye Birdie features a book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams. The musical, according to press notes, "revolves around rock 'n' roll superstar Conrad Birdie (loosely based on Elvis Presley), who, to the dismay of his adoring fans, is about to be drafted into the army. . . .Comic complications ensue when, as part of one last publicity stunt cooked up by his agent, he promises to give a good-bye kiss to one lucky girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio, on 'The Ed Sullivan Show.'" The score features such tunes as "How Lovely to Be a Woman," "The Telephone Hour," "Put On a Happy Face," "A Lot of Livin' to Do" and "One Last Kiss." Directed and choreographed by Gower Champion, the musical opened on Broadway April 14, 1960, at the Martin Beck Theatre.

Paul Blake produces; Mike Bosner is associate producer.

This season marks Paul Blake's last as executive producer of The Muny. Mike Isaacson will succeed Blake beginning with the 2012 season at the St. Louis theatre. Blake has served as executive producer of The Muny since 1990.
