Original On Your Feet! cast member Doreen Montalvo will take over the role of Gloria Fajardo, Gloria Estefan’s mother, beginning February 7 in the Broadway musical at the Marquis Theatre.

Montalvo will succeed the originator of the role, Drama Desk Award winner Andréa Burns, who will play her final performance in the show February 5.

Broadway favorite Burns (In the Heights, The Ritz, The Full Monty, The Nance) will be part of Playbill Travel's star-studded Broadway on the Rhine River excursion August 13-20. Click here for more information.

Montalvo has been a member of the ensemble since the musical debuted in Chicago in 2015, originating the roles of Nena and Lucia. She was also an original Broadway cast member of In the Heights, earning the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance. Other notable theatre credits include Giant at The Public Theater and the national tour of Flashdance The Musical.

On Your Feet! also stars Theater World Award-winning Cuban-American actor Ana Villafañe as Gloria Estefan, opposite Puerto Rican performer Ektor Rivera as Emilio.

The musical is produced by James L. Nederlander and Estefan Enterprises, Inc. in partnership with Bernie Yuman.
