Nicholas Martin directs the season-closer for his troupe at the Boston University Theatre set to open May 19. Martin will play the role of Serafina in The Rose Tattoo. The actress is known for her work on "SCTV," "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and in the recent Broadway revival of Oklahoma! She was last seen at Huntington in Betty's Summer Vacation, also under the direction of Martin.

The Williams classic drama centers on a Sicilian seamstress who mourns the death of her husband but finds comfort in a stranger who reminds her of him. She deals with love, loss, anger, desire and her 15-year-old daughter.

Martin has appeared on stage in The Exonerated, My Favorite Year, Nude Nude Totally Nude, The Vagina Monologues, Out of This World and The Merry Wives of Windsor as well as on film and television in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," "Wag the Dog," "Anastasia" and "Stepping Out."

The cast of The Rose Tattoo also includes Diego Arciniegas, Tina Benko, Nancy Carroll, Timothy Crowe, Dara Fisher, Dominic Fumusa, Melinda Lopez, Cheryl McMahon, Colleen Quinlan, Bobbie Steinbach, and Greta Storace. Boston University students also featured include Courtney Abbiati, Chris Frontiero, Rachel Rusch, and Ryan Sypek.

Martin, who is artistic director of the Huntington Theatre Company, directed the current Broadway staging of Match by Stephen Belber as well as Butley, Springtime for Henry, A Month in the Country, Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, Hedda Gabler, Fully Committed and Dead End.

The design team for The Rose Tattoo includes James Noone (set), Michael Krass (costumes), Kevin Adams (lighting), Jerry Yager (sound). The production features music by composer Mark Bennett.
