The Paris production will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of The Phantom and will mark the first time the musical plays in France and in French.

The Phantom of the Opera, which made its world premiere in London prior to an official Broadway opening in January 1988, was inspired by the famed novel by Gaston Leroux. It has since been seen in over 150 cities and 30 countries and has been adapted in 13 languages for over 140 million viewers worldwide.

Stage Entertainment said in a statement, "The Mogador Theater, so close to the Opera Garnier, is the ideal place in which to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the musical. We could not imagine a more appropriate framework for our Phantom than the homeland of Gaston Leroux."
