Andy Mientus, most recently on Broadway in the revival of Spring Awakening, has been cast in the 12-episode drama Gone, according to Deadline.

The Smash star will join Leven Rambin and Chris Noth in the series for NBCUniversal International Studios, Germany’s RTL, and France’s TF1.

Based on the novel One Kick by Chelsea Cain, Gone is created by Matt Lopez and tells the fictional story of Kit ’Kick’ Lannigan (Rambin) and Frank Booth (Noth), an FBI agent who rescued her in a well-known child abduction case. After training in martial arts, she joins a special task force created by Booth to solve abduction and missing persons cases.

Mientus has been cast in the role of James—a hacker and close friend of Kick—who was kicked out of his home as a teenager when his family discovered he was gay.

Mientus has also been seen on Broadway in the revival of Les Miserables and on screen in Chasing Life and The Flash.
