News Animated Film "The Canterville Ghost" Will Feature Vocal Talents of Imelda Staunton, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and More Casting for the film adaptation of "The Canterville Ghost" has been announced, according to Deadline.com.

The film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's story will feature Emmy nominee Hugh Laurie ("House," "Mr. Pip"), Tony nominee Stephen Fry (Twelfth Night, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug"), Academy Award nominee Imelda Staunton ("Vera Drake," "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"), Freddie Highmore ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Finding Neverland"), Miranda Hart ("Miranda," "Call the Midwife") and Toby Jones (The Play What I Wrote, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay"). Fry will play Sir Simon de Canterville, who has been haunting his ancestral home in rural England for over 300 years. He has easily scared off tenants until the Otis family moves in from America.

The film is written by Giles New and Keiron Self. Kim Burdon will direct.

"The Canterville Ghost" has been adapted into feature films, TV movies and radio plays. This film marks the first time it will be animated.
