News Ann Harada, Pearl Sun and Jason Tam Set for Celebrating Asian American Theatre Artists Panel The discussion will be held at the office of the Actors' Equity Association.

In honor of Asian Heritage Month, Actors' Equity Association will present Represent-Asian on Broadway: Celebrating Asian American Theatre Artists Working on the Great White Way May 9 in the Council Room at the Equity office.

Christine Toy Johnson, chair of the National EEO Committee, will moderate the evening, which begins at 6 PM with a reception followed by the 6:30 PM panel discussion.

The panel, according to press notes, will feature “Asian American artists discussing the triumphs and challenges they have had and various relevant issues that have emerged regarding yellow face, cultural appropriation, non-traditional casting, and what we can do as theatre artists/advocates for inclusion.”

Panelists will include Ann Harada (Avenue Q, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella), JoAnn M. Hunter (Thoroughly Modern Millie, School of Rock's choreographer), Devin Ilaw (the current revival of Les Misérables), Valerie Lau-Kee Lai (ASM, Spider Man: Turn off the Dark), Winnie Y. Lok (PSM, Outside Mullingar), Pearl Sun (If/Then) and Jason Tam (If/Then).

Actors’ Equity Association is located at 165 W. 46th St., 14th Floor.
