Anneliese van der Pol (That’s So Raven, Broadway's Beauty and the Beast) will star as Lucille Ball in The Cuban and the Redhead, a new musical set to play the Pegasus Theatre in Richardson, Texas, this fall. Storm Lineberger (the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera) will play her husband and co-star, Desi Arnaz.
Performances will run September 13–30.
Robert Bartley and Danny Whitman co-wrote the musical, which follows the on- and off-screen love story of the comedic duo. The musical is directed and co-choreographed by Bartley and will feature an original score reminiscent of Latin and American music of the 1940s.
Van der Pol is known for her performance of Chelsea Daniels in the Disney Channel hit That’s So Raven (as well as the current spinoff, Raven's Home) and as the final Belle in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast.
The cast of The Cuban and the Redhead is rounded out by Stephan Bates, Sarah Comley Caldwell, Robin Clayton, Mattie Lillian Davis, Myiesha J. Duff, Jonathan Garcia, Clint Gilbert, Mary Jerome, Logan Lane, Beth Lipton, Janelle Lutz, Quinn Moran, Rodney Morris, Jonah Munroe, Kelley Norman, Kimberly Pine, Elizabeth Piper, Matt Ransdell Jr., Sheila D.
