Previews began August 13, a day later than originally scheduled.

Jonathan Larson Award-winning composer Joe Iconis debuts his newest work under the direction of Julianne Boyd, who has replaced the originally announced Leah C. Gardiner.

The theatre released the following statement: “Due to creative differences, Leah C. Gardiner has parted ways with Broadway Bounty Hunter. Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director of Barrington Stage Company, has stepped in to handle direction for the musical’s world premiere.”

The musical features an R&B and funk score, and a book co-written by Jason “SweetTooth” Williams and Lance Rubin, inspired by Blaxploitation movies of the 1970s.

On a mission through the jungle, she is suddenly faced with the challenge of saving theatre itself.

Golden's credits include Broadway's The Full Monty, Xanadu and Violet. Off-Broadway she replaced Ellen Greene in the original production of Little Shop of Horrors and created the role of Squeaky Fromme in the original production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s Assassins.
