Peter DuBois (Jack Goes Boating, Measure for Pleasure) directs the work, which will officially open Jan. 8, 2009, and run through Feb. 1.

Parisse, who originated her role in the Humana Festival world premiere of Gionfriddo's play, stars opposite her original co-star, David Wilson Barnes (Saint Crispin's Day), as well as Emily Bergl (Some Americans Abroad), Kelly Bishop (A Chorus Line) and Thomas Sadoski (reasons to be pretty).

In Becky Shaw, press notes state, "a newlywed couple fixes up two romantically challenged friends: wife's best friend, meets husband's sexy and strange new co-worker. When an evening calculated to bring happiness takes a dark turn, crisis and comedy ensue in this wickedly funny new play that asks what we owe the people we love and the strangers who land on our doorstep."

Parisse, known for her television work on "Law & Order," has been seen on Broadway in Prelude to a Kiss and Off-Broadway in Misalliance and The Internationalist. Other credits include Coastal Disturbances, Monster, The Credeaux Canvas and The Wild Duck as well as turns in the films "Definitely/Maybe," "Blackbird," "Prime" and "Monster-in-Law."

The design team features Derek McLane (scenic), Jeff Mahshie (costume), David Weiner (lighting) and Walter Trarbach (sound). Gionfriddo has also penned the plays After Ashley, U.S. Drag, Guinevere, Safe and Trepidation Nation. She has earned an Obie Award and the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, among others.

Director DuBois was recently appointed artistic director of Boston's Huntington Theatre Company. He has also directed Measure for Pleasure, Richard III and Jack Goes Boating Off-Broadway as well as a new adaptation of Sam Shepard's Curse of the Starving Class at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre.
