Classic Arts News Annual Richard Tucker Foundation Gala to Feature (Met-)Star-Studded Lineup This year's Richard Tucker Foundation Gala, to be held this Sunday (November 12 at Avery Fisher Hall), features a more-than-usually star-studded lineup — one with plenty of singers currently performing next door at the Met, which has not been the case in recent years. The evening's roster includes Joseph Calleja, Jos_ Cura, Elizabeth Futral, Marcello Giordani, Angela Marambio, Aprile Millo, James Morris, Ren_ Pape, Patricia Racette, Sondra Radvanovsky, Samuel Ramey and Charles Taylor.
All of these stars will sing excerpts from roles they have not yet sung in New York. The program includes Patricia Racette singing "L'altra notte" from Boito's Mefistofele and the third act of Verdi's Otello with Jos_ Cura; Ren_ Pape singing the Coronation Scene from Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov; and Aprile Millo and Marcello Giordani singing "Vicino a te" from Giordano's Andrea Ch_nier.

Also featured will be recent winners of Richard Tucker Foundation Grants, including Sarah Coburn, Laura Vlasak Nolen, Marc Hervieux and Jordan Bisch. Asher Fisch will conduct members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Choral Society.

The Richard Tucker Music Foundation was founded in 1975 as a non-profit organization dedicated to continuing the artistic legacy of the great American tenor by supporting the careers of talented American opera singers with awards, grants, master classes and performance opportunities.
