The Wild Card Production of Glen Merzer's comedy, Anonymous begins previews May 16 at Off Broadway's McGinn/Cazale Theatre. The show opens May 31.
As reported earlier, Anonymous is directed by Pamela Berlin. The play deals with the mid life issues of a struggling novelist who is motivated to take a job in advertising. Added to the mix are a neurotic nutritionist and a mafia heavy with literary aspirations.
Casting for Anonymous includes Chip Zien (A New Brain, Falsettos, Into the Woods), Betsy Aidem, Peter Appel, David Arrow, Rosemary DeWitt, a videotaped cameo by Elizabeth Franz (Death of a Salesman) and Kevin O'Rourke.
This will be Franz's first New York stage appearance since winning a Tony Award for her Linda Loman last season.
The production team comprises set designer Edward Gianfrancesco, costume designer Amela Baksic, lighting designer Chris Dallos and sound design by Aural Fixation. Tickets are $40. The McGinn/Cazale is located above the Promenade at 76th Street and Broadway. For information and tickets call Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200.
