Mackie ("The Hurt Locker," A Behanding in Spokane, The Bacchae) would play Will, Lincoln's best friend and the man at the center of the vampire-slaying plot. Cooper ("Mamma Mia!," "An Education," Phedre) would be cast as Lincoln's mysterious mentor, Henry, who shares his vampire-killing skills with the President and his team.
As previously reported, Walker, who starred as U.S. President Andrew Jackson in the emo rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson on Broadway last fall, will take on the role of Lincoln.
Timur Bekmambetov will direct the film that has a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on his novel about the "real" reason behind the Civil War. Bekmambetov will co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley. Filming will begin in March.
"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is currently scheduled for a release June 22, 2012.
