News   Anthony Rapp Gets Back to Paying the RENT! Tonight

Anthony Rapp, who starred in Broadway's Rent, headlines Paying the RENT!, a concert event with NYC-based theatre company Uncompromising Artistry Productions, held April 12 at Joe's Pub.

The 7 PM rock concert benefit also features two-time Tony Award nominee Robin De Jesus (In the Heights, La Cage aux Folles, Wicked), Dee Roscioli (Wicked) and Daniel Quadrino (Newsies, Wicked) alongside the cast of Uncompromising Artistry Productions' Rent, which will be presented at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer in Scotland.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest performing arts festival in the world held every year in Scotland's capital city. The evening is a benefit for the company and the production headed to Edinburgh.

Rounding out the concert cast are Janet Krupin (If/Then), Jonathan Christopher, Lyonel Renau, Michael Quadrino, Injoy Fountain, Zia, William Ferdinand, Deanna Giulietti, Magdiel Cabral, Michael Jayne Walker, Dan Tracy, Joseph Spinelli and Junior Mendez.

Rapp, who starred as Mark Cohen in Broadway's Rent and the musical's subsequent film adaptation, is acting as production consultant on the project.

He said, "It's really exciting when I get to be encouraging or involved in any way with a production of this show.  It's great that these incredibly talented young artists get to experience this living, breathing work of art that was made all those years ago and still lives and still touches people all over the world. It has been wonderful to witness the early seeds being planted for this production, and this concert is a celebration of these folks coming together as artists to start their journey with Rent." Uncompromising Artistry Productions was founded by Samantha Cunha, Erin Mizer and Michael Quadrino. Their goal is to "create opportunities for rising theatre artists. They strive to provide management support that allows our artists to focus solely on their creative process."
