Presented through July 24 at the Irish Arts Center, Fundamental Theater Project and Royal Family Productions, Inc. are behind the project that is directed by Lisa Milinazzo and features a rotating cast of actors.
The production will travel to Edinburgh Aug. 5-27.
Scheduled to appear are Scott Adsit, Spencer Aste, Jon McCormick, Nicola Murphy, Jeffrey Omura, Anthony Rapp, Sam Underwood, Jennifer Van Dyck and Jonathan Walker, with special multimedia appearances by Alec Baldwin as the Ghost of Hamlet's Father, Richard Easton as Player King, Michael Emerson as Lucianus and Meg Gibson as Player Queen.
According to creators, 3D Hamlet is a "multimedia workshop, celebrating Hamlet’s skepticism, seeking to expose the plight of today’s 'Lost Generation,' who struggles to find the truths beyond the preconceptions perpetuated by the generation that preceded them. The deliberately mercurial nature of the production is designed to reflect both the tension that exists when one generation seeks to question the legacy left by another, and the idea that, when society itself is mandating the script, many players can actually play the same part."
Designers for the project include David Bengali (lighting and video/projection design), Lee Peterkin (director of photography/video projection design), Jeanne Wu (sound design), Sabina Petra (composer), Marianne Lu (set design) and Lauren George (costume design).
