News "Anticipation": Tony Winner Alice Ripley to Release "Daily Practice, Vol. 1" Rock Album in 2011 Tony Award-winning Next to Normal actress Alice Ripley will release an album of rock covers, "Daily Practice, Volume 1," on the Sh-K-Boom Records label in February 2011.

The ten-track acoustic album, which will feature songs by Carly Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Carole King and Sting, will be released Feb. 15, 2011. The project takes its title from Ripley's daily music work and her recent New York concerts inspired by songs that speak to her personally.

Ripley and Sh-K-Boom founder Kurt Deutsch co-produce "Daily Practice, Volume 1," which is aimed to be the first in a series of rock cover albums. Sh-K-Boom previously released Ripley's solo debut album "Everything's Fine" in 2000.

Ripley is currently on tour with the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal, for which the actress earned a Tony Award for her portrayal of a mother holding onto her family as she copes with depression and bipolar disorder. She received her first Tony nomination for playing conjoined twin Violet Hilton in the 1996 musical Side Show. Ripley has also appeared in the Broadway production's of Sunset Boulevard, James Joyce's The Dead, The Who's Tommy, The Rocky Horror Show, King David and Les Miserables.
